Robotics Club’s “Spam Bots” Sell Mystery Snacks in Halls
Memorial High’s Robotics Club unveiled their latest creation: “Spam Bots,” autonomous snack vendors programmed to roam hallways during break. Each bot dispenses an opaque snack capsule labeled only with a QR code. Scan it, pay with your Maverick Bucks, and take a chance–capsule contents range from gummy bears to glow-in-the-dark jello.
Early testers reported thrills and chills: one student found a mini-pizza; another discovered confetti in theirs. The bots navigate via hallway beacons but occasionally stall in front of lockers, prompting a student rescue squad to reboot them.
Club members cite lessons in AI ethics and vending-machine design. The administration enjoys the extra funds; the cafeteria grumbles about lost sales–but everyone agrees it’s the tastiest tech demo on campus.
